Something special this way comes…………

Much excitement at Ruby Towers! I have managed to get a limited quantity of a very, VERY special gemstone! You may or may not have heard of it, it is called Super 7 but sometimes called the Melody stone.

Super 7 is made up of seven different gems ~ Amethyst, Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Cacoxenite, Rutile, Geothite and Lepidochrosite. Those who are familiar with any or all of these will recognize that this is a very powerful combination! Even if they are not visible to the naked eye, all of the properties of these 7 gems are still within the stone.

Although not particularly striking at first glance, Super 7 has a beauty all of it’s own. No two  pieces are ever the same, each one totally unique, but equally special.

Super 7 is what is known as a high vibration crystal, meaning its energies are very strong. To someone not used to working with or wearing this stone, or to those who are sensitive to energy, this may at first feel a little overwhelming, as the energy is quite strong, but once accustomed to this wonderful energy, it is amazing!

Some of the healing properties of super 7

  • Opens up the senses
  • Helps you to see auras
  • Develops your psychic abilities
  • A powerful Earth healing stone
  • Balances, clears and sereneness all 7 of the major chakras in the body
  • Heals mind, body and spirit
  • A very spiritual stone
  • Brings wellness on all levels
  • Helps with all illnesses
  • Helps us to connect to higher realms and angelic connection while keeping us grounded in reality

Some of the properties of the Super 7

Amethyst ~ Bestows strength, patience and calm in stressful situations and helps to change negative energy into positive.

Quartz ~ An energy amplifier, enhances communication and listening skills and increases harmony.

Smoky Quartz ~ Enhances focus and creativity, promotes good business acumen and is a wonderful stone for those under stress.

Cacoxenite ~ Helps with spiritual awakening, promotes new ideas and understanding, and helps you to see the positive in life and all situation.

Goethite ~Good for communications, helps clairaudient abilities and is good for those who wish to enhance their ability to focus and concentrate.

Lepidochrosite ~ Helps with intellectual pursuits, clarity of thought and retaining knowledge and learning.

Rutile ~ Brings strength and love, assists in making transitions, accelerates spiritual growth, helps bring stability within relationships, balances mental and emotional imbalances, wonderful for dispelling unwanted negative energy.

So I think you will agree, this is something very special!

Angel Bracelets

Hi everyone! I hope you have managed to have a look at the Ruby James website recently to see all the beautiful new Angel jewellery I have designed and created. As a Reiki master myself, I always work with Angel energy in my healing,it is a most beautiful and gentle healing energy. I feel very blessed to be attuned to Reiki energy and have my own wonderful Reiki Master-Teacher and much loved friend Sue to thank for that.

I give every piece of jewellery I make Reiki and angel healing so it arrives totally cleansed and blessed with healing vibes, and has the clearest and purest energy. Energy sensetive people who have bought my jewellery will often tell me that can feel this energy as they open their package, which I am truly humbled by.

So, January. I can hear the groans already! It is one of the worst times of year for many people, Christmas is over, back to work, Summer seems a long way off, and life can seem very bleak at times. So as a little mid january treat, I am doing a special offer on my Angel bracelets, with a fabulous 10% discount using code BL9. If you are looking for gemstones for a specific purpose, I thought this little guide may help you to choose, although there are many more than listed here!

Feeling lethargic after binging out over the Christmas period? Carnelian can help with vitality.

For anyone suffering from headaches or migraines, or any chronic pain, Amethyst can help with this.

Pregnancy, childbirth and when hormones are running riot, Moonstone is the perfect stone. ( also for PMS )

Stress and ager, especially when it can lead to digestive upsets, Peridot may help.

If you are looking to boost your intuition and want to learn to trust that ” gut feeling ” more, Aquamarine is for you.

If you would like to connect with your angels more, Prehnite is a wonderful gem for this.

I hope you find this helpful, remember to always consult your GP if you have a medical concern. Complimentary therapies can work very well alongside conventional medicine, but should never be used as a substitute.

Going for Gold!

When creating my jewellery, I mostly work with sterling silver, but when the design calls for gold, I always use Gold Fill.

Although most people are familiar with the terms sterling silver and 9 carat gold, it an be a little more confusing when there is so much choice, with terms such as rolled gold, gold fill, Hill Tribe silver and on and on the list goes, so it may be helpful to clarify some of these terms.

925 Sterling Silver

Probably needs very little explaination as this is the one most people are familiar with. 925 simply means that it contains 92.5% pure silver, with the remaining 7.5% is other metal, usually Copper.

Hill Tribe Silver

Sometimes known as Thai or Bali silver, Hill Tribe Silver is 99% Pure silver.

Gold plate and silver plate

A very thin layer of Silver or Gold is applied to a base metal by electroplating.

Gold Vermeil

Sterling silver that is coated with 18 or 24 carat gold.

Gold Fill

Also known as rolled Gold or Gold overlay, this is the precious metal of choice for many jewellers. it is extremely hard wearing and will last a lifetime, even with daily wear. This is a base metal such as Brass, with a solid layer of Gold that is pressure bonded to it. As well as being very hard wearing, it is tarnish resistant, does not flake off and has 100% more gold than plating. It has the added benefit of looking like solid gold, but at a much more affordable price!

A fine romance!

I know men struggle to find suitable romantic gifts for the lady in their life, so I thought this year I would give romance a helping hand. I realise that buying jewellery as a gift can sometimes pose a problem, espeically if you are unsure what the persons preferred style is.

I have created the Eternal Love necklace with this problem in mind. The design is simple yet elegant, featuring a solid sterling silver heart engraved with I Love you, and a gorgeous faceted high end gemstone.

Currently available in Swiss Blue Topaz, other gemstones are to follow later this week as are the Eternal Love bracelets. The necklace is, as with all ruby James jewellery, lovingly gift packaged ready to give as the perfect gift.

And…..the Eternal Love necklace is featured in the October 2012 issue of GQ magazine!

So guys, now there is no excuse for not being romantic at Christmas! Available from this week from www.rubyjamesjewellery.co.uk

Moonstone

Working with high end gems, I see some truly beautiful beads and am in a constant state of amazement at what nature can produce.

I recently bought these Rainbow Moonstone hand faceted beads and they are so totally magical and stunning, I just cannot bring myself to use them! I know its silly, but I just want to hold them and look at them, they really are gorgeous.

I have tried to capture the blue flashes in the photograph and although you can see some of them, they rally are much more beautiful in real life. I just wish I could pluck up the courage to cut the string and make something with them!

Studio news!

At the moment I am working on a new collection which is in need of a name! I am very excited about this collection as it focuses on some stunning gemstones. The designs are going to be very simple, classic and chic, allowing the beauty of the gems to shine through.

There will be some really gorgeous gems, including, mandarin Garnet, inky blue Kyanite, pink Sapphire, pink Amethyst, Emeralds and many, many more. All the gems are AA – AAA grade are some of the best I have ever worked with.

So…..what to call the collection? I am thinking along the lines of Classic Collection or something similar, so any suggestions will be welcome!

Fresh inspiration!

Couldn’t resist taking this pic this morning of a gorgeous flower in my garden. Nature is so clever, pink and yellow, dont they look gorgeous together? As added inspiration, the pink leaves are a perfect heart shape! Has inspired me to creat a piece of jewellery in which I will be using soft, pink Morganite and Yellow Sapphire. Coming soon!Image

2012!!

Call me a bah humbug if you wish, but I am most thankful Christmas and new year is all over. I am a creature of habit and like my routine, which the festive period really upsets!

I have been making new things like mad, ready for the re launch of my site, which I hope will be within the next month. All my new pieces are currently with a photographer having a photo shoot, as while I am happy doing my own pictures for my site, if you want to get your products into the press, you really do need extra special photos, they need to be a specific size, resolution, white background etc, so for this I use a professional photographer. Hope fully this will ensure some of my jewellery makes it into the glossies!
